LexiView is a free browser extension that helps people with dyslexia read web pages more comfortably. This page explains what information LexiView uses and how.
LexiView saves your accessibility settings — whether the dyslexia font, spacing,
colour tint, and reading ruler are switched on, along with your chosen tint colour,
opacity, ruler colour, and ruler position. These settings are stored using Chrome's
built-in chrome.storage.sync feature, which means they're kept in your
own Google account's browser sync and are not sent to LexiView or to any server we
operate. We do not have our own back end and do not receive a copy of your settings.
To apply your chosen font, spacing, tint, and ruler, LexiView needs to read and adjust the structure and styling of the web pages you visit. This happens entirely within your browser. LexiView does not read the substantive content of pages for any purpose beyond applying these visual changes, and does not transmit page content anywhere.
The reading ruler features track your mouse position (or the position you drag the ruler to) so the ruler can follow you or stay where you've placed it. This position is used only in the moment, to draw the ruler on screen. It is not logged, stored, or sent anywhere — except for the final saved position of a custom-drawn ruler, which is stored the same way as your other settings (see above), so the ruler stays where you left it next time you visit a page.
